Problems
Customers hesitate to purchase when they have to pay the shipping fee. The fact that shipping fee is one of the main factors makes customers hesitate to make purchase decisions. They do not want the product price to be higher due to the extra fee for shipping. Another case is that customers’ locations are very near the sales points so they do not need shipping and want to self-collect.
Meet the shipping risks from shippers or shipping services. When stores hire shipping services, it is likely that they have to face potential shipping risks. For example, the loss/ lack of order items, product damages. As a consequence, the store has to take the full or partial compensation responsibility to customers. In this case, the store has no benefit and worsens the relationship with customers.
The risks of cash-on-delivery from the buyers. With the shipping method as COD, the buyers pay at the time they receive their orders from shippers. However, many orders have to come back to stores because customers refuse the delivery or shippers can not contact customers.

Allow customers to pick up products from physical stores
Magento 2 Store Pickup extension helps stores to enable customers to pick up the product at the best convenience. They can decide when and where to pick up and reduce a certain amount of shipping costs.
Admins to add the store pickup as a shipping method at the checkout page. When customers go to the Checkout page, it is easy to select Store Pickup in the Shipping Method section.
After one click, a pop-up will appear and get ready to receive pick-up information from the customers. A drop-list of pick-up locations is available and customers just need to select their preferred ones.
Store Pickup as a shipping method also displays on My Orders section (of My Account Page) of logged-in customers.
Schedule the in-store pickup time for both sides
For customers, after they decide on the suitable stores to collect their ordered items, the next step is arranging the pickup time. At the pop-up, customers can easily fill in their preferred date and hour in detail. For example, the pickup time is booked on 15 Jan 2019, at 3h15pm.
On the admin side, to make sure the items are ready when customers arrive, they can set a specific number of days after the orders have been made. For instance, every item is allowed to pick up after 3 days customers have ordered.
The schedule function creates convenience for both stores and customers, and makes sure the items will reach customers’ hands perfectly.
Configure stores available for each product
In case, items are only available at specific store branches, store admins can configure to make these items pickable based on branches.
This is necessary for the real inventory situation of each store branch. When the available stock of a product is small, the store owner can assign this product to only some typical branches. Besides, special discount products are only available at some new branches, with the aim of attracting customers to visit.
Show pickup stores on Product page
Customers can easily see the store branches allowing in-store pickup right from the Product Page. When shoppers are viewing a product, they can quickly know where they can come to pick this item up.
After one click, a pop-up will appear and suggest a list of suitable pickup destinations for the viewers.

Store Pickup methods will be displayed at 3 positions at the frontend: Product Page, Checkout Page, My Orders Page
Yes, of course. From the admin backend, you can set the minimum number of days after placing orders, after which customers can pick up the products. If empty or 0, products are always available at store for customers to pick up.
You can do this by going to Catalog > Product Edit > Available Store Pickup, select the stores which allow Magento 2 in-store pickup method.

From the backend, stores admins can select Yes to allow Store Pickup as a shipping method. If they want to disallow this extension, they can easily select No. -
Set the name and title for the pickup shipping method
